Link assemembly for spark advance?

Hey guys I notice that they discontinued this part and I'm curious what others have rigged up? I bought a used piece that was broken just to have all the parts and sleeved copper tubing inside and glued the plastic threading inside it. It failed on the second test. Any ideas?
