I have a Johnson 50 horse on a Hydrocraft boat. My question is must the motor be running for the nav lights ect to work? Thanks all

They could be powered from the battery(s). If they are LED the draw is minimal.

If the lights only function with the engine key on, it should be relatively easy to relocate the power source for the light switch...
