can anybody help me with advice on a fairly old mariner 4 hp 2 stroke outboard motor which i have been given. i have no starting procedure and don't even know what the little red button on the front is for? having big trouble with flooding. any advice would be grately appreciated. thanks Lee

Check for an owners manual from a Yamaha 4 (the old Mariner 4 hp motors were 100% Yamaha made motors), you can download a 1998 owners manual for the 4 hp from the Yamaha website. Very small difference between this and the old Yamaha/Mariner 4 hp engines.
