I checked the lower unit oil and it was milky after the last change. Probably a gasket?? Is it something that I should tackle?? Do I need to address anything else after it's opened up? I had just changed the lower unit oil and it seemed to be less in there than when I had put it in a day or two before. How many gaskets and
seals are there in a 1999 60 HP motor??? Are they hard to get to.

"Seals should be readily available for something as new as 1999

Did you use new seals on the level and drain plugs. Reusing these can be the source of water ingress.

Other likely seals are the prop shaft seals, which are easily damaged by fishing line, and the vertical drive shaft seals below the water pump. May be worth renewing these as a matter of course when changing the pump impeller .

A pressure and vacuum test is the only way to tell exactly whats leaking but replacing both lots of seals will hopefully cure it even if new drain/filler plug seals dont
