Leaking Oil

"I have a 1990 40 HP Mariner. Oil leaks out of fuel fiting on motor. There is a check valve to keep the gas out of the oil supply line, but what is there to keep the oil in when the gas line to the tank is not on?"

"Richard, should be the same with the gas line connection fitting (motor end of things) as well (depending on which connection type you have - Merc has a bunch with usually a male end on the motor cowl and a female on the gas hose from the external tank).

If you are "leaking" out of the fitting that your gas line (from the tank) connects to on the motor, it's time to replace it...."
