Leaking Oil From Lower Unit

I've got a Tohatsu 40 hp Outboard, Model M40C, which is leaking oil from the lower unit. The leak is on the opposite side of the plug in which you put the oil in. So if you are looking at the back of the boat with the motor, you put the oil in on the right side of the lower unit and the below picture shows the indentation and hole on the left side of the lower unit below the hump for the prop shaft in which the oil is leaking from. I looked at the parts catalog for the lower unit on this model and it didn't show a plug that needed to be here. Is there supposed to be something that plugs this hole or what would cause this oil to leak from here? Thank you in advance for any assistance with this.

OK, --If this motor is a 2 stroke that leak may be very normal.-----And no you should not put a plug in there.
