Leaking drive oil

I have drive oil slowly leaking out of the water intake on my lower unit. Any ideas??

I guess it depends on exactly what kind of drive your talking about.

I have the same problem but it was after I replaced the water pump on my 89 Galaxy with an Alpha One drive. stumped!!

Both of you ether missed a seal or a seal went.

There is a tiny o-ring between the halves at the shift shaft hole. Sometimes it just doesn't seal right due to sludge or loose paint or grit. Pull the unit apart, clean out the indent where the oring seal goes in the lower. Clean the around hole the upper of loose paint and grease. Use some kind of gasket sealant like Perfect Seal to install the new oring but make sure the shift shaft hole is clear. Use a tiny artist type paint brush to apply the sealant. I had one leak that didn't even show up on a pressure test.
