I have a leak. Water comes in when I lower the boat into the water. The engine does not need to be running, etc. so I believe that it is entering via either or both the electronic cable or the shift cable going thru the transom. The electronic cable (top arrow in the pic) has a rubber grommet that you can sorta see in the pic that looks to be broken away from the part on the inside of the transom. It will pull away from it's present location, so I know that's bad and probably contributing to the leak. The lower arrow is what I believe is the shift cable. There is no evidence of a rubber grommet at all there, but I'm not sure if there is anything on the inside of the transom blocking water from entering. So what should be there, if anything? How do I fix it so it stops leaking? Can I just put some high quality sealant in both places, or is that bad?
