Well dang I came here because I thought it had something to do with why I have 100 psi on bottom cylinder and 40 on the bottom I don’t know we’re to start lookingSame thing as reed plate.------Reeds are a one way check valve.------Allow fuel / air into the CRANKCASE when piston goes up in the cylinder.------They close and trap mixture to be compressed in the crankcase when piston comes down.----This mixture is then transferred into the cylinder via ports when piston is at the bottom of the stroke.------And before you ask , the reed valves have nothing to do with compression in the cylinder.-------So why the question ?----What is your motor doing / not doing ?
What’s a bypass cover? You do a complete evaluation on an old motor before you spend any $$$ on it.----Remove bypass cover on the motor with 40 PSI.---Look at piston / rings.
Well this is my first “build” so to speak but I removed the plate above the fuel pump and looked at the piston little scarred so I said f it and took the head off top one has some gouging not as bad as I thought it would be but still there bottoms fineYou do a complete evaluation on an old motor before you spend any $$$ on it.----Remove bypass cover on the motor with 40 PSI.---Look at piston / rings.
