Launching 5.0

Took the shrink wrap off, put in the battery. Fan and electrical (lights
and such ok) Turned water on and put on muffs and tried to start. Got the beep and then only a faint click. Tried again, everyting was dead. No power whatsoever(lights blower,etc)0 Battery is 6 months old and fully charged. Any ideAs where to start?

Mercruiser 2001 5.0 chevy small block. Total rebuild in 2009.

The battery cable ends especially the neg on the block,

I had the large-amp fuse go bad on my starter, caused the same symptom...No issues one weekend, or any time previously, and the following weekend nothing.

I want to think this was a 60-amp fuse, and I believe it was attached to the larger lug on the starter. Easy fix, and only about $20.00.
