" My cooling system may be plugged or my impeller is chewed up (or both). My tell-tale is only blowing steam and I found small rubber pieces resting on the inside of the water intake screen which I assume to be the blades of the impeller. Is there a way of back-flushing the cooling system to dislodge debris? To access the impeller and impeller housing do I drop the lower leg assembly at the base of the power head or lower down, near the water intake screen? "

You remove the lower unit.One

You remove the lower unit.One nut just above the prop( 1/2" socket required) and a nut in front above the split ( 9/16" wrench required) the unit then drops down and the rest is obvious.
