"i have a 1977 evinrude outboa

"i have a 1977 evinrude outboard 70 hsp that i took to the lake today,the motor runs fine ,it will idle for a week without sputtering but when you push down on the throttle it only goes about 8 mph the shifter box is working the forward and reverse normally, has good compression and the carbs have been rebuild,all fuel lines are o.k. and new fuel..what could be the problem ? thanks jerry dee"

"My 175 is doing the same thing, but my Left side isn't getting fire. I have changed my powerpack, and coils. Also spark plugs. Not sure what else it could be. I was looking into maybe the shift inter. switch?? or the stator?"

"If the carbs open and close at the same time, and start to open (throttle butterflies) when the scribe mark on the cam is aligned with the center of the carburetor throttle roller, they're in sync.

I HAD THIS HAPPEN AND IT WAS A PIN HOLE IN THE DIAPHRAM OF THE FUEL PUMP JUST SOMTHING TO THINK ABOUT.
