I've seen others comment of their '95 PCM GT-40. I too had had no problem with this engine until the last two summer. When cold, it starts right up and runs great. After running it far awhile, skiing/tubing/etc. and the engine gets up to speed, and it it sits, it just will not re-start. If I let it coold down below 140 degrees, it will re-fire perfectly. I've replaced both the low pressure and high pressure pumps. Next will be the coil. Someone has to have a solution for this problem. Help!

Re: Kris O

You are describing a "hot soak"...after getting the engine 'hot', before shutting it down, try running at fast idle, in neutral, for a few minutes. This will let the cooling system purge some of the heat and may help a good bit.

i had the same problem. the pro tec ignition system is junk. they do not manufacture it anymore either. you need to get the mallory ignition system for it. it comes in a kit with a simple wiring harness for that motor and everything. www.skidim.com. that's where i bought mine. it's called a protec retro kit. it was 450 dollars. if you were to pour water in the coil vents it will start right back up but eventually die completly or might be past that right now.

I also have a 1995 gt40 and it will not start when the engine is warm. Are you sure I need to dump $450 for a the mallory ignition system for it to work?
