Kohler generator

I have an Kohler 8e (think it's a 1996) runs fine but shuts off after an hour or so...after the battery dies I guess. Battery has been checked and is fine. it's not charging the battery. Someone said it may be a bridge rectifier. 2 questions, one does that sound correct? 2. are the yavailable for model that old?

this is not a generator site although you may get help from the general boat repair section...i ran a kohler for many years in the 70,s and the charging rectifier had nothing to do with the running...what you need is the repair manual and wiring diagram for your model...a guess(but only a guess) is that you are thermaling out when it gets hot after an hour...
