K-Plane/Trim Pump Issues

Twin Mercruiser 496HO's with Keikefer 280 tabs. The tab pumps are basaically the same pump/reservoir as the standard Merc drive pumps.

1st issue: On my starboard side the K-plane pump just clicks when at both the up/down position on the seperate rocker switches on the dash. I have cleaned both solenoid wiring connectors. The solenoids are configured a little different than the OD setup, but solenoids/operation is the same.

2nd Issue: Both drives also have seperate trailer rocker switches. Again on the starboard side the trailer rocker switch will only raise the drive. Subsequently, the trim switch on one of the dual throttles (operates both drives simultaneously) will both raise and lower the starboard drive (both sides actually) up/down no problem? So there's an issue with the trailer rocker switch wiring or connector somewhere.

Any thoughts?

1 The pump motor shouold have 3 wires, Black, Blue, Green .Use a jumper from the battery to the blue and green , This may prove you have a bad solenoid
2 corrosion?

Okay so i should disconnect the blue/white and green/white wires from the solenoids and do a direct jump from one of the charged batteries for the k-plane pump since it only clicks when trying to raise/lower the tab. I am going to check this in a couple of hours when I get home if the pending rain forecast doesn't prevent me. I took the wires apart and cleaned everything. They actually looked good before.

What about the OD pump where the trailer button will work for raising the drive, but only click to lower. Yet the "trim" button will raise/lower within trim limits no problem? I replaced both solenoids with new ones with no change.

Are these pump motors sensitive to moisture from condensation or a water hose when washing out the bilge etc? The boat is only five years old since new and really shouldn't have an issue other than a corroded contact or two over time.

Ayuh,... Probably corroded wiring ends....
