"Maybe you have the idle set t

"Maybe you have the idle set too low, should be about 800rpm when in gear....does it idle Ok in neutral, what speed does it idle at?

There is mixed feedback on seacast if you search the net, it seems to be heavier than wood."

"I just rebuild a 1970 Wellcra

"I just rebuild a 1970 Wellcraft transom with seacast. That stuff is rock solid! It bonds better then wood to your boat. Alot depends on the type of boat you have. The biggest problem is getting the old wood out. The middle might come out easy, but the ends could still be solid, and take alot of work to get out. Either with wood or Seacast, you must remove all of the old wood.
My Wellcraft did not have a inner fiberglass skin below the floor line. It was glassed in with the floor. If I would have followed their instruction, I would have filled my entire hull below the floor with about $3,000 worth of seacast before it was full to the top of the transom. I cut my floor to add a form below the floor line, and redid my floor after the transom pour.
All in all, I am now doing alot of repair work with Seacast, I like it. After I used it once, I changed my thinking about alot of other repairs and changes I want to make to all of my boats."

"well got most of the wood out

"well got most of the wood out so far but still have a little in the drivers side and its solid. going to get it aout also. the motor idles really good just slowly dies when put in gear,, I was thinking it might be out of sink"

"Assuming that the compression

"Assuming that the compression and ignition (spark) are as they should be, set the idle as follows when using a flushette.

20" shaft engine - 1000 rpm.

25" shaft engine - 1200 rpm.

In the water, the engine will drop to its proper idle rpm."
