Jonhson 40 vro year 1989 Trim

Hi
My Jonhson 40 vro year 1989 2 sylinder (J40 TL CEC) outboard motor´s trim suddenly does not work.
So, I need to tilt motor down by loosing the manual release screw.
I checked electric components and they seems to work ok.
To check or repair trim motor system, I have to lift motor up. But it seems, that is someway stuck and I can´t by hand lift motor up by that manual release screw.
So help me. Is it so, that by manual release screw works only to tilt motor down or does it work both directions (loose trim manually up and down)?
What I can do to get motor tilted up?

Obviously, without the tilt/trim working the motor is quite heavy. With the manual release screw loosened, you are doing just that - MANUALLY raising the motor. I can't think of anything else that would prevent the motor from raising up. Have you checked to see if you're getting voltage to the motor? As always, green is down and blue is up. Blue sky, green grass! Also, the T/T motor either has an actual ground wire or it's grounded by the mounting bolts. If there's a ground wire, i'd check that to make sure it's not loose or corroded.

Hi again,
I didn't manage to lift the machine up by unscrewing the release screw, I had to remove the trim from the bottom end. I tried quite intensively to get it up, even with a jack, without success. It was completely stuck. By removing the lower end, it was easy lift motor up and I was able to access the trim itself. The cause was revealed to be stucked coals in the electric motor and I made the electric motor work and after replacing it back, the trim goes up and down in the vacant one. Now the problem is, that at driving speed in the trim has no force to push the machine down. I checked the oil level and if I understand it needs to be checked when the trim is fully up. Where should I start looking for a solution to a problem?
