ive got no spark , been stood around for awhile , connected battery turned key , everything free. took plugs out and not sparking. any ideas please

Disconnect large RED electrical plug at engine. Crank engine by jumping solenoid and check spark (spark should jump a 7/16" gap). If you now have spark, suspect a shoted ignition switch.

If still no spark, look under flywheel and inspect stator. If a sticky looking substance is dripping down from any of the stator's three (3) large black coils down on the timer base and powerhead, replace the stator.

If the stator looks like new, the usual cause is a failed powerpack (but not always).
