Johnson-what model and year

Hey Guys. I have a Johnson 30 hp twin cyclinder 2 stroke outboard. The I/d plate is illegible. It has the engine family number listed as “40CXM0032210”. The M could be either a M or an N. It is hard to read. There are no other identifying numbers on the engine. It is fitted to a 2003 Quintrex Hornet, so I have been working on the assumptio that it is the same year engine. Can anyone out there help me identify the year and model of the engine or steer me in the direction of how I might find this info? Thanks

I would try for the serial number from the chip on the powerhead? They are going to need that if they will look that far back.
