"As new what was the compression in the Johnosn V4AL-16D 75HP? Mine is as follows (cold motor with no oil sprayed in cylinders). I had run the motor about 1 week ago though.
#1- 90PSI
#2- 85PSI
#3- 90PSI
#4- 80PSI

The motor runs very well and will pull a skier up and out of the water pretty good.

"The compression will vary from gauge to gauge. Normally, the compression (new) was approximately 100 psi. The important aspect is that the compression readings be fairly close as yours are. Sounds good to me. The readings may improve if you run something thru the engine to clean out the carbon and free any possible sticking piston rings."
