"is this a legitimate model number? A friend of mine read the serial number plate, and this is what he said the model was for a Johnson 70 HP. I am looking for a wiring diagram for this particular motor."

That would be a V-4 75hp and a

That would be a V-4 75hp and a 1963 model. A carefull examination should be done to see if it is worth the effort to fix it up.

I have to agree with n-a-s. Those were real gas hogs. They were quite durable but performance was not real high.
