Remove the lower unit.

Remove the powerhead and long exhaust housing as one unit from the steering swivel bracket.

Remove the large nut from the bottom portion of the steering bracket, then remove the steering cable from the top portion of the steering arm.

Pull the steering arm and attached shaft straight up and out of the swivel bracket.

big job..but can be done ,of course....what this means,is u have a salty dawg,...that someone.......did not take the time to fr wtr rinse...
