How did this motor run for you last season ?----What trouble shooting has been done ?-----There should be a screw ( #84 ) to adjust idle speed.-----Model # of your motor ?

I just got the boat this yr it seems to run good but after I drive it for a while and stop to fish or whatever, when I start it back up it seems like it's idling low and will die when put in gear. I have to use the fast idle handle to get the idle up then quickly put it down and into gear and its fine to go.
 
I can not see , touch or hear your motor.----Trouble shooting begins with a compression test.-----Post the actual values here.-----This shifting at higher RPM may damage expensive gear components !

Yes of course !-----And motors are often SOLD because something was WRONG with it !-----Trouble shooting ( for me ) is so easy.
