I bought this Johnson Seahorse CD-19S 10 yrs ago for $150.00. I never had a chance to run it. Bought it off a very close friend.
Then had my knees replaced then had a heart attack.
So now I'm at the point to where I can go float. But there is a small hole on the side of the lower exhaust that while cleaning
the hole there is a rubber object that wants to come out sorta like. But to big of coarse. So what I need info on how to's to
get to the water pump. Also the shifter shifts forward and reverse but does not seem to go into neutral.

Any help would make my wife and I very happy. So What I'm looking for info that I can print and the fine print hints on how
to's to do it.

Thank you

That rubber thingy is the grommet that the water tube fits into.----Leave it alone.-----You have to remove the powerhead to disconnect the shift rod .----Then the lower unit comes off.----Some scoff at the design but that shift mechanism is factory set and simply does not go out of adjustment !

Thanks for the speedy reply racerone. When hand spinning the motor the propeller spins in the direction it is supposed
to turn but when in neutral the propeller seems to be locked like in gear. I have a friend that works on small motors but had a stroke.
So his memory is not up to par. He stated need to take the power head off to take the lower off. But hazy on the full know how to
get to the water pump. He feels that it turn kinda tight turning even with the sparkplugs out. Then he was going to put some lube
in the little hole to give it some lube. And that is when he seen that rubber. It has been sitting about 10 yrs in the basement.

Hats off to your friend for trying to help. Pray that he gets better.

As for the shift, it can't be that hard to diagnose. It works or it don't work.
