I understand that 2-stroke out

I understand that 2-stroke outboards smoke a lot compare to the newer motors today. I was told there is "Smokeless 2-Stroke Oil" on the market. I was told it is manufactured by Sierra. Does anyone know anything about this oil and do you recommend it for older Johnson outboards? My motor is in good condition with approximately 70 hours. My motor's compression is a solid 120 to 115 in all cylinders.

Thanks

"No oil is 'smokeless'

"No oil is 'smokeless' when it burns!
However some oils smells more than others when thy burn, but that has to do with additives.
If a two-stroke is smoke less and gets the recommended amount of oil, it means in general that the oil leaves out un-burnt with the exhaust. I have met people that removed the thermostat to make the engine run colder that claimed it smoked less, but that is not to recommend as worse things may happen. Run sea-foam at least once a year to keep your engine clean inside, then use whatever TCW 3 oil on the marked."
