Johnson HP 25 with problem in forward

hi;
I ve a johnson hp 25 (year 78). in forword the lever turns to the neutral. there is no probleme in reverse
Its gearbox seems clean (no usure).
Can you help me please to resolve this mecanic problem?

The first thing to check is the adjustment at the shift lever itself.------------While turning the prop for the " feel " on this, check that you feel clutch dog engagement with the same amount of movement of the lever. Both for forward and reverse.------------Remove plate on exhaust housing and check for looseness in linkages.---------I could also be wear and tear on the clutch dog and forward gear from use over the years.----------Pull lower unit apart for inspection of parts, including a carefull look at the shift cradle.

shift lever has two adjustment bolts, one on tne back and one on the starboard side...

if not an adjustment, id check the cradle first like racer said. been there done that.....

I ll try to check all theses idees at next week end.
But i confirm constated that the gear lever seems does not to be clamped when forward contrariwise it is very clamped when reverse
