Johnson Elite 75 Model 75ELR76D Engine acts like sheer pin broken

The engine will run at low speed but when the controls are pushed for maximum speed it does not work.
Any help!!

If it revs when given gas and no or little forward movement you have a spun prop.

What is a spun prop?

The inside of the hub is a tight pressure fit rubber insert,once it breaks its hold the hub spins but there isnt enough friction to spin the prop. To check for a spun prop, take a awl and scratch the hub and the prop so the line aligns (hub to prop). Run the motor, rev it in gear then stop and look to see if those lines are yet aligned, if not the prop is called a spun prop and needs either rehubed or replaced,35HP and lower a new prop is about the same cost as rehubing.Larger HPs rehubing is cheaper.
