johnson controls

Hello all, I have an older 77 starcraft with the original 70's controls in it, but I have switched the motor over to a 91 johnson 70hp, now everything works it starts and runs fine, tilt works only issue is when I hook up the oil tank for the vro I get the constant alarm like its overheating. so I'm just wondering will the alarm system for the vro and overheat circuits not be operating properly because its used in conjunction with and older style control box? and would it be better to get a newer style control box?

One stupid question,are you looking up wire or hose? Ok two questions,red plug harness?

hooking up the tan and black wires from oil tank to the motor harness and its a red plug harness

would upgrading to the newer style warning horn make any difference?
