my johnson 90 immediatley revs

my johnson 90 immediatley revs up to 5-6000 rpms right after it turns over. Then when it idles out and I drop into gear it does not come out of gear. It will go from forward to reverse without ever hitting neutral. The lower unit is 1 year old to the week.

ck linkages on eng,making sure throttle advance is returning to idle position from throttle.This is not a good situation at all....w/eng OFF,have someone,spin prop,put in gear and full throttle,then back to idle position,watching the eng controls to see if carb butterflies,or throttle mechanism is sticking,or not ret to idle..same thing on gear shift cable...make sure it is not loose in cable retainer area on eng..
has anyone been in control box lately??"
