I have just purchased a johnso

I have just purchased a johnson 9 hp -J9RSLCSA-and it starts well but the cooling water from the exhaust vent is only a fine spray.The after tell tales have water flowing through them at a low level and the engine is not over heating in a test tank.Please - what should be normal water flow for this engine.

Since you just purchased I wou

Since you just purchased I would change the impeller and seals to be sure. After that change impeller every couple years and seals every four or so. See what it does after that. You can't assume the previous owner did proper maintenance.
