Hello everybody,
I'm new on the forum, my name is Tom and am from Belgium.
Last year I bought a Fletcher Arrow with a 70 hp Johnson VRO outboard engine. Model BJ70TLESB so year should be 1990, right?
The engine went fine for a while until we started doing some waterskiing and inflatable tube fun with it.
Then it started to stutter (no alarm sound) when trying to speed up so we could only go very slowly.
Did some research and found that it was probably the impeller which was worn out so the engine overheated.
I opened the tail and indeed the impeller was totally worn out!
Ordered the complete replacement kit and installed it.
Water shooting out fine and went for a spin : all ok!
Then took out the inflatable tube for the kids and started pulling them in it. After 10 min the stutter was there again :-(((((((
The VRO is disconnected, manual mixture 1/50.
The thermostatic valve on top of engine is also replaced.
Anybody can help me out please? Summer is half-way and I would love to have some fun with it with the kids...
Thanks,
Tom.
