motor starts and runs good right off the trailer.if i run it for a while, then shut it off it does'nt want to restart.motor turns over real strong, but just will not start.i noticed that when i first shut the motor off i can here a gurgling sound.any help would be appreciated.

I don't want to sound like a hard ass here but if you want do any trouble shooting you have to have the proper equipment. Normally the spark should jump a 7/16" open air gap when testing. You could also have a bad compression loss when the mtr is warm. Remember, it takes three things to make the mtr start. Ignition, compression and fuel.

how long is a while? can you run the boat around until it runs out of gas? change tanks and it won't start. is that what you mean? what year is the motor? does it have an electric/primer choke, or a butterfly choke. either way, if you can run it out of gas, change tanks and it doesn't start, you have an overrich condition (great for cold starts only) then look for: bad o-rings/sticking primer soleniod, butterfly choke doesn't stay open (half choke); check linkage, or faulty/worn needle in carb, heavy float (old float that soaks up the gas), improper float setting/height. good luck

The problem occurs after I run it for 30 minutes or more.It runs fine, idles fine but when I cut the switch off it does'nt want to start back.I have tried changing fuel tanks and lines, does'nt work. It's a 1995.It has an electric primer/choke.When I cut the motor off I can here gurgling sound and there are little droplets of fuel spitting out the exhaust. Thanks for the help.
