OK I am totally new to Powerboats - I am a long time sailor (blowboats please don't hold that against me, I am coming over to the dark side

I have purchased an old whaler that we have restored the hull. The engine was checked out and had some work done to it. I need to replace the screens at the water intake. I know I have to undo the 6 bolts holding the lower unit on.
Where is the shift lever nut that also has to be released?
I have not released anything yet, tonight's project.
