Johnson 50hp

Hi i juust put a water pump kit on this johnson 50 put it in a tub of water it run good with good stream at top water port but it is pissing water where lower unit bolts up has no gasket there bolts are very tight also water coming out at two ports just above that. is this normal cause ive always had it at the lake running it. this is the first time ive put it in a tub of water at home. what should i do?

It is all normal !--There is no gasket between lower unit and exhaust housing.
