Johnson 50 shift lever not going all way

I have a problem with my johnson 50, it seems that the shifting lever does not go all the way. When going forward it sometimes looses forward gear and it is not possible to give more than half throttle because of the mechanical stop that prevents throttling when not in forward gear, see the attached picture. What part should I start to investigate?

Where is this motor ?----Europe , Asia , Australia ?----Model # is ?---------I can not recall seeing a shift lever like that the common 50 hp models.-------Is it a commercial model perhaps.
