johnson 5.5 hp

Visit any BRP / Johnson / Evinrude dealer.----Likely an item that they have in stock.------Or order right from this site.----Note , the powerhead has to be removed as well.---So you will need a powerhead gasket and o-ring for the top of the driveshaft.

Unless you know otherwise, look at the old pump before ordering parts. There is a possibility that the pump may have been converted to a newer style (very different).

The o-ring racer mentioned is 303347. Also get a 303355 gasket that goes with it (in addition to the powerhead gasket)

Thanks for quick response. I'm thinking I didn't ask the right questions? My main problem is with the old carb float which was varnished beyond repair (from old gas) when I disassembled the carb. The motor water pump worked okay before I left the motor out over the winter where temps went to well below freezing. I need a new float, and (I believe) an impeller. I could be wrong. Can you help? Thanks in advance. Ron

You asked about an impeller and float.----See post # 2----And in order to replace the impeller you need to remove the powerhead to disconnect the shift rod !!

Thanks for info. I need to replace the carb float first, and get the motor running again. Then I'll attack the potential impeller problem, if necessary? Thanks again. ron

Or better yet, order a carburetor repair kit, part number 0493071. Includes the float and a bunch of other stuff.

Go to the top of this page & enter the part number given #439071 in the search box. You can buy it & any other parts you might need right here.
