I recently acquired a Johnson 4R72S 4hp outboard. The previous owner said he never used it and the guy before him barely used it. It is in great shape but I can't get it to spark. I think the magneto points have corrosion on the them. Is there anyway to get the points to clean them or should I get a new magneto, if I can even get one. It looks like I'll have to pull the flywheel to get to it. Is there anyone who has had any experience tinkering with these.
Also I pulled the recoil off to clean it but now I can't get the spring back in. You guys got any ideas?
