" Can you tell me the contact breaker gaps, spark plug types and gaps, any info on tuning the carb. I have set the contact breakers to 0.025, the cyl heads look like they need 0.375 reach plugs but my dealer says fit 0.5 reach plugs. My fuel/oil ratio is about 50:1, but it still oils up one plug after abiut 15 minutes running. The carb only has a fast running adjustment, where do I start with the screw? What is the float level in the carb. Is there an electronic timing back plate I can fit to get rid of the contact breakers? "

"Kevin;point gap is .020,Champion J6C spark plugs gapped at .030.Start with the hi-speed needle at 3/4 turns open.Use mid-grade gas with a GOOD tcw-3 oil.My OMC parts catalog shows both a idle needle [top] and a hi-speed needle valve[lower],set the idle at 1.5 turns open.Float level is parallel to gasket sauface,carb inverted.Yes you could go to CD ignition but that would cost more than the engine is worth.I can fix you up.
