*I have acquired one of the above which has good compression on both cylinders and the gears appear to work however I have the following questions to which I would like some information.

The shear pin on the prop is approximately 1/4 of an inch is this correct?
*
When the engine is in gear should there be any play on the prop if yes how much?
*
When looking at the engine from the back there is a plastic rod on the left hand of the flywheel which is not connected to anything but it seems to me should be connected to the gear change rod as when I manually move it it seems to hold the gear change rod more securely in place.* There is possibly a spring missing which holds it in place.
*
Any infomation regarding the above would be appreciated* - also is there a reference somewhere where the year of manufacture can be worked out from the serial number of the engine.
