"Hi I have a Johnson 4 HP outb

"Hi I have a Johnson 4 HP outboard. I have tried to get a manual to enable me to change the impeller. On checking MarineEngine.com I am unable to match my Model to any of their manuals. My model is J4EERAS Serial no G04605391.
Can anybody help me identify year, which manual and I need and mix required. I am in the UK.
Thanks Graham"

"I cannot find that model numb

"I cannot find that model number. It does not fit in with any of the sequences used for Johnson model numbers.
Ok with J4 but after that it just does not make sense.

usually it is possible to make a guess at what it should be but not this time.
I suggest you read the number again very carefully using a magnifying lens.

Does the plate give the country of manufacture?
Have you any idea of the approximate age. Before 1980? 1980 to 1999? or later still?
Does it have an integral fuel tank or not?
Does it have reverse gear?

I bet it starts J4BR for an) engine built in Belgium esp being in the UK

I'd like to see the third from end either C, E, or S
and the letter following I, N, T, R, O, D, U, C, E, or S

Once you get the number right you can ignore the very last letter look it up at http://www.skoterskroten.com/img/arsmodellstabell.pdf
The American lists probably won't include the Belgium built models.

If it is 1964 model or later (I reckon it will be) the mixture will be 50:1 using ordinary unleaded and a 2 stroke outboard oil to TCW3 spec."
