Hello,

My old 33hp Johnson started to make a very strange thing, while in gear and at half throttle, the motor moves fine, when i add a little throttle it gets in high rev and wont move anymore! It sounds like, when for example cars clutch is slipping, after i release throttle and put the throttle again about half it works again. This thing should not make sense, i checked the prop pin, and it was also Ok. Does anyone had such a problem, or knows, what can cause such an issue? The gear lever does not move, when it happens.

I haven`t checked it yet. I got also a new prop, i think that the only solution to check the old prop is to try to turn the hub in it?
 
Scribe a mark on the prop hub and the prop. Take and run it and if the marks get out of alignment the hub is slipping.
 
I have checked the prop today, i put the prop hub between a vice and tryed to rotate then the prop with my hands, and i was able to rotate the prop. I think the result is that the prop is defective, i dont know yet, do i try to repair it or not.
 
My boat is 4,65 meter long (15,25ft), the boat is from aluminium. I think, that i may try to fix it myself. The prop condition is normal.
