hi i have a johnson 30hp elect

hi i have a johnson 30hp electric start outboard
i have a problem someone might solve in high revs it splutters and coughs in very low revs ok i notice it get a bit steamy when it starts to splutters ie out of the exhaust port it is pumping water out of the pee hole ok starts ok but is lacking power it is on a 17 ft shetland sheltie it is a 1992 model

hi never replaced the impeller bought this year plenty water coming out of pee hole i thought if impeller was kaput it would not come out of pee hole the model i think is a seahorse

"You can have water pumping out the pee hole and still over heat at low revs as the engines temp is being controlled by the thermostat.

You need to give the motor a birthday!!! new water pump, head gasket, deflectors in the block. thermostat and a service."
