motor is over heating is there a water pump and is it in the lower unit ? could someone send me a exploded diagram of the lower unit or explain how to get it apart. Thank you

Yes there is a water pump. It is located in the top of the gearcase and to access it you need to remove the gearcase.

Find your motor by make, year, hp and model number in the parts catalog at http://shop2.evinrude.com/ext/index.aspx?s1=bf6ad09c53cead335fcfd8a6471c0f7f

Choose the gearcase section and you will get an exploded diagram and a parts list
for the gearcase assembly including the water pump.

I have the same motor, that gearcase is real easy to R&R, two bolts, then W/P housing, easy. Good luck
