I hope that someone can help me on this matter. I purchased a great 2000 Wellcraft that came with a BJ225VXSSS, 225HP Johnson 1999. This engine runs great at high speed but cannot maintain a idle speed. I just had a marine repair shop rebuild my carburetors as per their recommendation and still, it cannot maintain a idle or low speed and that gives me a hard time when docking. The engine is stalling all the time. I even feel that the engine change its tune as I tilt up or down at low speed.
Anyone got any ideas? Should I start checking the timing? As I said, no problem at high speed.
