Johnson 225 J225PXEIC (Fuel problem I think?)

Each time I repair something it gets a little bit better idling and starting, basically the engine will run and plane out the boat for about a minute and a half (at wide open throttle) and then it starts shutting down cylinders, it studders and the boat comes off of plane. It will continue to studder until I bring it back to the ramp.

I have a 1991 Johnson 225 outboard ( J225PXEIC ) is the engine code. I have replaced the following parts trying to trace down the issue:

Spark plugs
spark plug wires
igniter system ($300)
fuel pump ($300)
Fuel line (all fuel line) ($150)
rebuild the carburetors ($125)
ran an independent fuel cell
Water pump ($100)

Each time I repair something it gets a little bit better idling and starting, basically the engine will run and plane out the boat for about a minute and a half and then it starts shutting down cylinders and the boat comes off of plane.

I've tried pumping the primer ball while it is idling to see if it would get back on plane, and it doesn't help.

The primer ball is not hard once it comes off of plane (cylinder shutdown, stuttering)

What do you guys think the problem is? Has anybody else encounter this same problem? What did you guys do to solve it?

Thanks,
Brett Collins

When you rebuilt the carbs did you make sure to clean all the internal parts, such as the high speed orifice and all that?
