Johnson 20hp water pump replacement, having trouble dropping lower unit, any suggestions???

Trying to chang e the water pump. Took out bolts and can't get it to drop. HELP!!

Got all the bolts out? Got the shift rod disconnected? Does it drop even a little bit? Need to know what model you are working on, if we are to give you specific advice.

It will be getting hung up on the stud on the leading edge. The one you will have taken the nut off from.
