this is the situation... when I run(during cleaning) my 1998 200 HP Johnson on the ears muffs I get al oil/water mix off the lower unit/propeller hub...so I was thinking I had a prop shaft seal problem...so I took the boat out to a spot I know where we snorkel and just have fun in the water, while I was under water snorkeling it occurred to me to check the prop area to see what the leak looked like....ran my finger thru the exhaust/propeller area and nothing, the area was free of oil...once out of the water and while rinsing the salt of the motor the oil/water mix came back any ideas why the motor "slobbers" on the muffs??? I know the motor is not under load and it might spit the excess oil/fuel mixture, but the mix smells like gear oil and not fuel/ two stroke oil... any ideas why this might just happen on the muffs and not while in the water?
