My 2.3Hp Johnson outboard produces some horribe noise from its main bearings.
Been told that they are very quick and easy to change. Can anyone tell me how to go about the job please?
Presume I remove the cover (how do I avoid the recoil starter mechansim springing apart?), remove the flywheel (will I need a puller or are there other ways on such a small engine?), undo the bolts underneath the powerpack so that I can remove it from engine (how do I loosen the bolts - should I get the engine hot first?) and then split the crankcase (but how?).
Grateful for any advice, guidance or photos that anyone can send me.
Thanks
Chris
