Hi, we are new to this forum
My son and I just got a Johnson 1976 70hp for free; it did not run for few years, we are trying to salvage it - late summer project
In neutral position, flywheel does not move (we know we are neutral since the propeller is free. We pushed on the piston by the spark plug holes: 3 of them seem ok, not seized (they moved a bit)
Is there any safety or else that would restrain the flywheel to turn? Maybe rusted? Engine was on the ground for couple years
Any suggestion?
thanks!

Get the motor where all three plug holes are in an upright POSITION, fill them up with ATF and mixed 50:50: Acetone and let them soak. Try to break it loose every few days, PATIENCE !!!!!.
