Johnson 15hp Won't Start

Hi, we have a Johnson 15hp motor, model number J15REOD, not sure of year, think 1995. We took the boat out today. Started on first pull. Water spitting out the pee hole. We were in a no wake zone for 300 feet and then moved slowly to higher throttle for about 200 yards. Engine was doing great. Then, slowly we lost power. Shut off and could not get restarted. We checked for spark, strong. We checked the fuel pump, working. We changed spark plugs, no start. We put fuel in both cylinders we could get a backfire but engine did not try to start. Plugs look dry and don't smell of fuel. We did a pressure test and top and bottom cylinder were at 30. Where did my compression go? Husband is a car mechanic but this is our first boat engine. Appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!
 
This sounds almost exactly like my problem... Does anyone know the outcome???
